Labor leaders stood outside of Congress yesterday repeating demands for an end to the war on Gaza. Representatives from the UAW, American Postal Workers Union and the United Electrical Workers stood alongside several progressive Congresspeople, including Cori Bush (D-Missouri), Rashid Tlaib (D-Michigan), and Ro Khanna (D-California) to push for H.Res. 786, a ceasefire bill in Congress.
UAW President Shawn Fain, fresh from a historic labor contract victory against the Big Three automakers, said, “We cannot bomb our way to peace,” and that, “The only path forward is to build peace and social justice through a ceasefire.”
